This is my personal reference list for stuff to bring and stuff NOT to bring, as it is essential to bring only the necessary equipment during a trip. This list might be updated from time to time...

- Light Towel (easy/quick drying)
- Deodorant
- Clothing
- At most 1 T-Shirt for every day (calculate rewashing)
- At most 3 pairs of Trousers
- At most 2 pairs of Shorts
- 1 Pair of Strong Sandals
- 1 Pair of Walking boots (waterproof possibly, depending on season and location)
- 1 Hat, 1 Fleece, 1 Rain Jacket
- Laundry net-bag, Laundry detergent
- Equipment (some of this is shared amongst people such as tents and gps, etc)
- Tent (provided on some trips), Sleeping Bag, Pillow, Possibly a Mattress, Portable Hammock
- Knife, Swiss Knife (can opener, bottle opener, screw driver)
- Sat Phone with Accessories, Iridium SIM card (check expiry date and minutes)
- Rechargeable Camp Light/Lantern, Portable Small Flashlight, Head Light
- Approx 3 Zip Lock bags for soap, electronics or wet items
- Day Pack (Rucksack)
- GPS (possibly with base map/trails/tracks - Tracks4Africa?)
- Area/Local maps and Road Maps
- Spare Batteries (GPS, Flashlights, Camera)
- Bring a suitable amount of $USD in small notes (at most $50)
- Duct Tape, Electrical Tape, Rope
- Mosquito Spray
- Laptop with minimal accessories (not essential)
- Toiletries
